Parish/Town Guide to the Province of Québec This guide was created by Robert J. Quintin, as well as the revised and augmented edition. It was designed to prevent wasting time looking for ancestors in the wrong town at the wrong time. Quintin said that this guide will save researchers many hours of research by helping them focus on the correct parish in the correct town during the correct time period. Four different lists designed to make genealogical research in Québec much easier are currently available. This database contains 1) a chronological listing of pre-1901 Catholic Churches, 2) an alphabetical listing of parishes by town, 3) an alphabetical listing of parishes by the patron saint of that parish, and 4) an alphabetical listing of parishes by county.
The Notaries of French Canada 1626-1900 – These records were also created by Robert J. Quintin. It contains a handy listing of the notaries that practiced in French Canada. The database lists notaries 1) alphabetically, 2) chronologically and 3) by the area served. Quintin said that this guide will save the genealogist many hours of valuable research time by helping them find the most logical notaries who most likely will have the records for which they are searching.
